Calculation of the thermal loads of an ice rink using a zonal model and building energy simulation software.

Author(s) : DAOUD A., GALANIS N.

Summary

A municipal ice rink in Montreal was modelled and its transient thermal behaviour was evaluated for a typical year using a zonal model coupled to building energy simulation software. Parametric studies were carried out to determine the effects of the ventilation air temperature and the average brine temperature on the refrigeration load, the ice temperature, and the air temperature above the stands.
