Summary

THE VALUES OF ELECTRON AND PHONON DISPERSION IN A TWO-DIMENSIONAL LATTICE OF CUO2 ARE CALCULATED BY THE METHOD OF BONDING ORBITALS. THE DATA ARE FOUND TO BE IN A GOOD AGREEMENT WITH COMPUTER ONES. THE ELECTRON-PHONON INTERACTION CONSTANT AND THE DEBYE TEMPERATURE ARE ESTIMATED TO BE ABOUT 3 ELECTRONVOLTS AND ABOUT 1,340 K, RESPECTIVELY.
