Summary

Car air conditioners must function through all four seasons. Under this wide range of condition, a variable displacement compressor has several merits. The compressors are classified into piston type and rotary type. The mechanisms of variable displacement are different between the two types. Moreover, there are internal-control and external-control methods. In the paper, a structure, control mechanism and control method of these variable displacement compressors are described.
