Summary

An essential element in air conditioning is cooling, which can be accomplished by introducing cooled air from outside or by installing cooling elements, such as ceiling cooling, in the room itself. Although interest in ceiling-mounted cooling systems is growing, builders and designers of room air treatment systems often lack adequate information on the possibilities and limitations of these components. Impressive performance claims are often unwarranted. This report considers the layout of ceiling-mounted cooling within a larger, composite "ventilation" system.
