CELLULAR GLASS INSULATION OF LNG STORAGE FACILITIES.

Summary

PERLITE CONCRETE AND FOAMGLASS HAVE BEEN USED FOR THE INSULATION OF LNG TANK BOTTOMS, BUT IT IS ALSO NECESSARY TO INCREASE THE STRENGTH OF THE INSULANTS IN LARGE TANKS SO THAT THEY CAN WITHSTAND EARTHQUAKES (MAINLY IN JAPAN). CELOAM WAS ADOPTED BECAUSE OF THE SAFETY IT GIVES TO LNG TANKS. THE AUTHORS PRESENT THE MANUFACTURING METHOD AND THE PROPERTIES OF THIS INSULANT AND SHOW ITS APPLICATIONS IN LNG STORAGE FACILITIES AT RECEIVING TERMINALS.
