CENTRAL CHILLED WATER PLANTS FOR INSTITUTIONAL, INDUSTRIAL, AND COMMERCIAL COMPLEXES HAVE AN INHERENT ENERGY SAVING CAPABILITY DUE TO LOAD DIVERSITY FACTORS. HOWEVER, ENERGY SAVINGS ARE POSSIBLE ONLY IF THE DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM IS PROPERLY DESIGNED AND CONTROLLED. THE A. ANALYSES ALTERNATIVE PIPING ARRANGEMENTS TO SHOW HOW PUMPING POWER MAY BE SAVED. SYSTEM AND PUMP CURVES ARE USED TO SHOW HOW CONTROL VALVES MAY BE USED. DIAGRAMS SHOW BASIC PRIMARY AND SECONDARY PUMPED SYSTEMS ARRANGED TO PROVIDE CONSTANT FLOW THROUGH THE CHILLERS. E.W.S.
