Summary

THE SPECIFIC PARAMETERS TO MAKE COMPARISONS BETWEEN CENTRIFUGAL COMPRESSORS ARE THE SPECIFIC SPEED, SPECIFIC DIAMETER OF THE TURBINE, THE REYNOLDS NUMBER AND THE MACH NUMBER IN RELATION TO THE REFRIGERANT FLUID PROPERTY. WHILST THE AUTHORS AGREE THAT THE SPECIFIC SPEED AND DIAMETER OF THE TURBINE ARE IMPORTANT PARAMETERS AS REGARDS THE DESIGN OF HIGH PERFORMANCE MACHINES, THE MACH NUMBER IS VERY IMPORTANT AS IT RELATES TO THE PRESSURE RATIO OF THE MACHINE.
