Certification of refrigeration companies.
La certification des entreprises du froid.
Type of article: Article
Summary
Refrigeration, air-conditioning and heat pump systems often use refrigerants that have a detrimental effect on the climate. Furthermore, some of these refrigerants deplete the ozone layer. More frequently still, improper maintenance of refrigeration installations lead to undesirable refrigerant leakage. In Flanders alone, the undesirable leakage of 700 tonnes of refrigerant was noted in 2005, most of which came from industrial or commercial refrigeration systems or from the air-conditioning plants of large buildings. In CO2 equivalents, this represents 1320 tonnes, or in other words, the mean annual CO2 emissions of 120 000 households.
