Summary

A computer code is described which calculates the thermal and fluid-dynamic performance of a finned coil in the presence of single-phase or two-phase flow (condensation or evaporation) inside tubes. The code is available on the market. The finned coil can be divided into two or three parts, depending on the internal and the external heat transfer modes, and each of them is considered as an elementary heat exchanger with uniform internal and external coefficients of heat transfer. A possibility exists of calibrating the computer program against the experimental heat transfer data of an actual heat exchanger. E. F.
