Summary

This is a Cuban law concerning the cleanliness of the human environment in general and the atmosphere in particular. The aim is to achieve sustainable development in the field of human activities. The basic principles are defined, then constraints for new industries, needs in terms of information and training, means of monitoring, sanctions and the setting up of a suitable legal environment are discussed. Protected zones (water, soil, forests, fauna and flora) are mentioned, as are noise- and waste-related issues.
