Summary

This report focuses on Elf Atochem's major European industrial sites and illustrates results achieved 5 years after having made commitments in 1993: 3 of the 4 objectives concerning the emissions of these sites (with respect to 1992 figures) have been met. Internal treatment of 95% of dangerous waste was the only objective not met. Elf' Atochem's environmental security policy for the next few years is defined, as are the firm's efforts to achieve sustainable development.
