Summary

Particulate matter smaller than 2.5 micrometers poses the greatest risk to health, and deteriorates indoor air quality the most. Proper filter selection and filter maintenance are important parameters in controlling particulate matter and achieving and maintaining good indoor air quality. The recent introduction to Europe of air filters treated with a biostatic preservative, with its ability to inhibit the growth of microbes, can also make a significant contribution to indoor air quality.
