States that the requirement of the 1988 COSHH Regulations to control substances hazardous to health has led many companies to spend large amounts of money on the installation of local exhaust ventilation (LEV) systems. Maintains it is rare to find examples of well-designed, efficient systems which give good control over the contaminant in question.
