Summary

GOLDEN DELICIOUS APPLES WERE DIPPED IN AN AQUEOUS SUSPENSION OF COMBINED ETHOXYQUINE, CAPTAN, VINCLOZOLIN, THIABENDAZOLE, THIOPHANATE-METHYL AND CALCIUM CHLORIDE PRIOR TO STORAGE FOR 7 MONTHS IN CONTROLLED ATMOSPHERE AT 275 K (2 DEG C). AT THE END OF STORAGE THE APPLES WERE WASHED WITH DILUTED DETERGENT SOLUTIONS IN A PILOT PLANT TO WHOLLY OR PARTIALLY REMOVE THE PESTICIDE RESIDUES. THE DETERGENTS REMOVED ABOUT 80%OF CAPTAN OR VINCLOZOLIN AND 50% OF BENZIMIDAZOLE PESTICIDES, BUT HAD NO SIGNIFICANT EFFECT ON ETHOXYQUINE.
