THE PAPER DEALS WITH FREE COOLING, WHEN THE EXTERNAL AIR TEMPERATURE IS MARKEDLY LOWER THAN THE REQUIREDWATER TEMPERATURE. THE PRINCIPLE OF FREE COOLING IS REPORTED: MEETING THE REFRIGERATING CAPACITY REQUIREMENTS BY MECHANICAL AND FREE COOLING, THE POWER REQUIREMENTS FOR PURELY MECHANICAL AND FOR COMBINED COOLING ARE DISCUSSED.
