Summary

Computer simulation was used to study the development of collision cascades in monocrystals of YBCO(7), YBCO(6.5) and YBCO(6), which were produced by primary knock-on atoms during fast particle irradiation. Oxygen deficit was found to have an effect on the development of cascades in these phases, with a lowering of oxygen deficit decreasing cascade sizes. The type of primary knock-on atoms was observed to influence the geometry of a cascade. In addition, the angular dependences of the displacement threshold energy for yttrium and barium ions are given.
