Commercial refrigeration systems with refrigerant CO2: theoretical considerations and experimental results.

Summary
The efficiency of the CO2 system seems to be somewhat lower than that of state-of-the-art R404A systems for medium-temperature applications and somewhat higher at low-temperature applications. By adapting the system design to the special characteristics of CO2 and introducing some improvements in design, the efficiency level can be improved. Economic aspects, a parameter that is becoming essential to the introduction of systems on the market, are also discussed.
