Summary

This manual is part of the collection of guides of the French AICVF (Association of HVAC&R Engineers) on monitoring, measuring, and control for better quality in HVAC plants, and has been prepared by CoSTIC. It is the third and last of a series of guides to commissioning heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems (see also IIR Bulletin, ref. 95-1963 et 96-2645). Designed as a practical tool for the commissioning engineer, it presents a step-by-step description of the commissioning process: preliminary stage, acquiring necessary information and documentation about the system, planning and preparation of equipment; preliminary checks; checking control points and their wiring; putting into operation and checking local units; setting the parameters of the control points and their functions; establishing the performance of the control points; final checks; the commissioning report. Goes on to present a series of chapters providing background information and explanations necessary for understanding control and building management equipment and processes.
