MASS TRANSPORT COLUMNS FILLED WITH MOVING SPHERES FOR EVAPORATIVE COOLING WERE USED AS GAS AND LIQUID HEAT EXCHANGERS. THE AUTHORS GIVE COMPUTER RESULTS FOR SIMULTANEOUS HEAT AND MASS TRANSFER DURING EVAPORATIVE COOLING. THEY DESCRIBE THE STRUCTURE AND THE QUALITIES OF THE NEW TYPE OF UNIT.
