Summary

While the scope of part I of the present study is a comparison of the established Fourier method with a finite difference approach this second part introduces another analytical method to solve the system of equations. The Laplace transform is used and the results are compared to the numerical solution presented in part I. Temperature and mass fraction profiles across the film, the development of the interface temperature and mass fraction, as well as the absorbed mass flux are presented in dimensionless form for various flow lengths, wall temperatures and Lewis numbers. Additionally an improvement of the established Fourier method is introduced briefly overcoming its mathematical instabilities which are discussed in part I of the present study.
