THE PAPER DESCRIBES A COMPUTER SIMULATION MODEL TO PREDICT THE PERFORMANCE OF AN ICE GENERATION AND STORAGE SYSTEM USING A DIRECT-CONTACT EVAPORATOR AND COMPARES THE RESULTS WITH A CONVENTIONAL ICE-ON-TUBE STORAGE SYSTEM. THE EFFECTS OF ICE THICKNESS AND OUTSIDE WET-BULB TEMPERATURE ON THE KILOWATT/TON OF THE REFRIGERATION SYSTEM ARE PRESENTED.
