THE AUTHOR DESCRIBES TWO WAYS OF USING CO2 AND DISCUSSES THEIR APPLICATION TO THE TEST RAILCAR BEING TESTED IN THE USA. HE COMPARES THE INJECTION PROCEDURE OF EARLY SYSTEMS AND THE TWO-STEP PULSE, TEMPERATURE AND TIMER RESPONSIVE, CONTROL OF THE TEST RAILCAR. HE DISCUSSES THE IDEA OF INJECTING CO2 FROM A TANK INTO A COMMON VESSEL AND THEN TO ADJUST THE TEMPERATURE OF THIS TO THAT REQUIRED FOR THE FOODSTUFFS TRANSPORTED. HE SHOWS THE ADVANTAGE OF THE TANK BEING USED AS FLOOR AND AS REJECTION BARRIER TO HEAT.
