Summary
Heat pumps are being used in an increasing number of flower bulb farms in the Netherlands for conditioning purposes. The advantage of (electric) heat pump use is the combination of all conditioning steps (drying, cooling, and heating) in one device. Besides, process control is simple and self-stabilising. To save energy costs (the electricity price is at least twice the natural gas price), it is very important to ensure proper design and installation of the heat pump.
