Summary

AN ACCURACY OF ABOUT 1% MUST BE SAFEGUARDED WHEN USING LIQUID REFRIGERANT FLOWMETERS AS THE PRINCIPAL METHOD OF DETERMINING REFRIGERATING CAPACITY. THE CONDITIONS OF FULFILLING THIS REQUIREMENT ARE: 1. PREVENTING BUBBLES OF REFRIGERANT OR NON-CONDENSABLES DURING REFRIGERANT FLOW THROUGH THE FLOWMETER. 2. KNOWLEDGE OF OIL CONTENT IN THE MEASURED REFRIGERANT LIQUID. 3. KNOWLEDGE OF GAUGING VALUES OF THE FLOWMETER USED IN THE WHOLE MEASURING RANGE. A REFRACTOMETRICAL METHOD OF OIL CONTENT MEASUREMENTS, A GAUGING METHOD AND AN APPARATUS FOR REFRIGERANT FLOWMETERS WERE DEVELOPED.
