Constraints on the performance of dehumidifier driers.

Summary
The design of a batch type heat pump wood drying kiln is analysed by means of a whole system model, and factors which determine the drying speed, energy efficiency, and operating profitability of the system are identified. A case study is presented to illustrate the influence of these factors. Results are given and discussed.
