Summary

THE STUDIES CARRIED OUT SINCE 1977 BY GAZ DE FRANCE ON GNL DENSIMETERS ARE PRESENTED. THE TESTS INCLUDED A DEVELOPMENT PHASE IN LABORATORY TO DETERMINE THE DEGREES OF ACCURACY OF THESE INSTRUMENTS AND AN OPERATING PHASE TO EVALUATE THEIR TIME BEHAVIOUR AND THE EFFECT OF THE OPERATING CONDITIONS. THE AUTHOR CONCLUDES THAT THE TECHNOLOGICAL LEVEL ALLOWING AN ACCURACY BETTER THAN 0.2% HAS NOT BEEN REACHED AS YET, BUT THAT IT WILL BE VERY LIKELY BEFORE LONG.
