Contribution to safety aspect discussion in isobutane compressors for domestic refrigeration.

Summary

A study on isobutane/air flammability behaviour was conducted. The effect of use of flammable refrigerants in current hermetic compressors for household refrigeration was studied experimentally. The authors conclude that the risk connected with the use of hydrocarbon compressors seems to be reasonably low.
