Summary

A SYSTEM OF 5-STEP AUTOMATIC CONTROL OF REFRIGERATING UNITS BY MEANS OF A THERMOSTAT WITH TWO TEMPERATURE PICKUPS IS DESCRIBED, CONTROLLING THE UNIT OPERATION CAPACITY FROM ITS FULL REFRIGERATING CAPACITY OVER A MINIMUM REFRIGERATING AND FULL VENTILATION CAPACITY TO INNER HEATING BY HOT REFRIGERANT VAPOUR. A REFRIGERATING UNIT EQUIPPED WITH THIS CONTROL SYSTEM WAS TESTED IN OPERATION IN AN ISOTHERMAL BODY IN EMPTY CONDITION, LOADED WITH FRESH NONPRECOOLED AND PRECOOLED PRODUCE. THE TESTS HAVE PROVEN THE ABILITY OF THE UNIT TO MAINTAIN OPTIMUM TRANSPORT CONDITIONS.
