Summary

After defining the transmission factor of a loop, the transmission factor of a proportional controller and the amplification of a circuit, a method for selecting the control mode is proposed. Various processes for controlling the parameters of controllers are indicated: control as a function of the characteristical properties of the loop and the stability limit (experimental rules of Ziegler and Nichols). Finally, the effect of controller parameters in the example of proportional integral control mode is explained: effect of the proportional band and integration time. J.L.
