Author(s) : ASHRAE, NAGENGAST C.

Type of monograph: Book

Summary

This booklet has been prepared in celebration of the 100-year anniversary of the founding of ASHRAE. The household refrigerator was one of the 20th century's greatest inventions, allowing housewives to make ice instead of buying it. Refrigerator manufacturers saw the opportunity to promote their product by developing recipes for meals for all occasions, recipes that enabled housewives to "cook with cold". This booklet has a selection of original recipes for cakes, salads, frozen desserts, iced drinks, etc., that appeared in these manufacturers' pamphlets, as well as pictures of vintage refrigerators, original recipe book covers, and the history of each company.
