PERSONNEL AT THE NASA LANGLEY RESEARCH CENTER BUILT THE FIRST CRYOGENIC WIND TUNNEL IN 1972. FOLLOWING THE DEVELOPMENT OF THIS LOW-SPEED TUNNEL, VARIOUS RESEARCH ESTABLISHMENTS AROUND THE WORLD ALSO BUILT CRYOGENIC WIND TUNNELS. THE PAPER DESCRIBES SOME OF THESE TUNNELS IN ENGLAND, FRANCE, FRG, JAPAN AND THE USA.
