Summary

This book (a supplement to volume 32, 1992 of "Cryogenics") includes the papers presented during these two conferences, held conjointly in Kiev, Ukraine, in June 1992. This collection presents the activities taking place worldwide in the field of cryogenic applications and cryogenic materials in small-and large-scale devices. It is divided into 10 main chapters: small refrigerators and cryocoolers; large refrigerators and their components; cryogenic loops, components and liquids; cryostat technology; heat transfer problems; superconducting magnets and design problems; stability of superconductors; electrotechnical application of superconductors; superconducting detectors and electronics; thin films and Josephson junctions.
