Type of article: Article
Summary
The authors optimized a protocol used to cryopreserve embryogenic cultures of olives (Olea europaea L.). Three protocols (classic vitrification, ultra-fast freezing using droplet vitrification on aluminium foil and a classic slow freezing method) were compared. The best results were achieved using the droplet method after a 60-minute dehydration periods, and embryogenesis took place within 6 weeks.
