Summary
The current limiter is based on the rapid transition from a superconducting state to a normal state when the critical current of a superconducting element on the line to be protected is exceeded. This completely new device will fill the gap left by conventional devices like circuit breakers, thus improving network operation and reducing operating restrictions when incidents do occur.
