Type of article: Article

Summary

I-V CURVES (IVC) OF BISMUTH WHISKERS (2.0, 2.8, 3.1 OR 3.9 MICRO METER THICK) HAVE BEEN MEASURED IN ZERO MAGNETIC FIELD AT 4.2 K. BOTH THE IVC BEHAVIOUR AND THE RESIDUAL CURRENT OBSERVED IN A NONLINEAR REGION WITH THE ELECTRIC FIELD TURNED OFF PERMIT THE DATA FOUND TO BE CORRELATED WITH THE CHERENKOV PHONON GENERATION.
