DEPHLEGMATOR PROCESSES FOR RECOVERY OF VALUABLE HYDROCARBONS.

Summary

HIGH EFFICIENCY CRYOGENIC PROCESSES FOR THE RECOVERY OF VALUABLE HYDROCARBONS HAVE BEEN DEVELOPED USING DEPHLEGMATOR THESE PROCESSES HAVE BEEN USED IN APPLICATIONS FOR HIGH RECOVERY OF HEAVY COMPONENTS FROM LARGE FLOWS OF LIGHT GASES. PROCESSES ARE PRESENTED FOR THE RECOVERY OF ETHYLENE FROM CRACKED GAS AND LIGHT OLEFINS FROM FCCU OFF-GAS. THE HEART OF THESE PROCESSES IS THE DEPHLEGMATOR. LIQUID CONDENSED FROM THE FEED GAS RISING IN THE DEPHLEGMATOR FLOWS BACK IN COUNTER-CURRENT AS REFLUX. HEAVY COMPONENTS BECOME INCREASINGLY CONCENTRATED IN THIS REFLUX, AS IT FLOWS TO THE WARM END OF THE DEPHLEGMATOR.
