Desiccant cooling - a zero-leakage and zero-charge cooling system.

Author(s) : HEIKKILÄ K., LINDHOLM T.

Summary

A case study is presented, where the environmental impact related to the energy use for desiccant cooling is compared with the energy use for vapour compression cooling. The results show that electricity use is the dominating factor concerning the operational energy consumption. Consequently, the environmental impact caused by the energy use depends significantly on the sources of electricity.
