Summary

A NEW TYPE OF TEST ROOM FOR AIR CONDITIONERS IS CONTROLLED BY A COMPUTER USING A VEHICLE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT OR HOUSE ROOM MATHEMATICAL MODEL CONSISTING OF ENERGY AND VAPOUR MASS BALANCE EQUATIONS OF THE COMPARTMENTAL AIR. THE TEST ROOM CAN BE USED TO CARRY OUT ACTUAL PERFORMANCE TESTS ON THE TRANSIENT BEHAVIOUR OF AN AIR CONDITIONER. THE COMPARTMENT'S AIR TEMPERATURE AND HUMIDITY AT THE NEXT TIME STEP ARE PREDICTED USING THE MATHEMATICAL MODEL AND A CONVENTIONAL TEST ROOM METHOD. THE 2 SETS OF RESULTS ARE IN GOOD AGREEMENT.
