Design and development of HTS synchronous motor with Gd-Ba-Cu-O bulk.

Author(s) : MATSUZAKI H., KIMURA Y., MIKI M., et al.

Summary

The authors study a high-temperature superconducting rotating machine assembled with Gd-Ba-Cu-O bulk field-pole magnets. The bulk magnets and armature coils are under indirect cooling with liquid nitrogen flow. The bulk magnets on the rotor plates are inserted between the split-type armature copper windings and are magnetized with pulsed current flow through the armature. Recent progress for magnetization of bulk, mechanical and cryogenic designs are reviewed.
