THE PAPER REPORTS THE RESULTS OF ASHRAE RP-471, < DEVELOPMENT OF DESIGN GUIDELINES FOR THE PROPER USE OF AN ECONOMIZER CYCLE WITH HEAT RECOVERY SYSTEMS >. A METHOD IS PRESENTED THAT WILL ENABLE THE DESIGN ENGINEER TO PROPERLY SELECT AMONG AN ECONOMIZER SYSTEM, A HEAT RECLAIM SYSTEM, OR A COMBINATION OF BOTH, BASED EITHER ON ENERGY OR COST CONSIDERATION.
