International developments in building-ventilation standards.

Internationale Entwicklung der Normen für die Lüftung von Gebäuden.

Author(s) : OLESEN B. W.

Summary

A comparison is presented of air-quantity requirements in ASHRAE 62R, DIN 1956 Part 2 and CEN prENV 1752. All three standards have a prescribed method, for which the required air quantities are given in a table, and all three have an analytic method, for which the required air flows are figured according to health and comfort factors. The minimum requirements in ASHRAE are for adapted persons (i.e., who have already been in the room for some time), whereas those of DIN and CEN are for unadapted persons (i.e., who have just come into the room).
