Summary

WITH THE AID OF A DYNAMIC MODEL THE YEARLY HEAT DEMAND OF THE BUILDING, THE ENERGY CONSUMPTION AND HEAT PRODUCTION OF A NUMBER OF PRESELECTED HEAT PUMPS, IN BIVALENT OPERATION, WERE COMPUTED OVER THE YEAR AT INTERVALS OF TEN MINUTES. THE RESULTS OF THOSE CALCULATIONS WERE COMBINED WITH THE INVEST-MENT AND OPERATION COSTS OF THE RESPECTIVE HEAT PUMPS IN ORDER TO DETERMINE THE OPTIMUM SIZE OF THE HEAT PUMP. THESE ARE THE CONCLUSIONS: THE OPTIMUM HEAT PUMP HAS A CAPACITY OF 25% OF THE TOTAL HEAT DEMAND AND DELIVERS 75% OF THE ANNUAL HEAT CONSUMPTION.
