Summary
FOLLOWING AN ANALYSIS INTO THE PREVIOUS USE OF SPIRAL HEAT EXC HANGERS, AN INVESTIGATION WAS CARRIED OUT INTO THE GEOMETRIC AND THERMODYNAMIC REQUIREMENTS FOR THEIR USE AS EVAPORATOR AND CONDENSER FOR TWO-COMPONENT REFRIGERANTS. THE BASIC CONDITIONS FOR THE CALCULATION OF HEAT EXCHANGERS FOR TWO-COMPONENT REFRIGERANTS WERE ANALYSED ON THE BASIS OF RESULTS OBTAINED FROM THE REFRIGERATION DEPARTMENT OF THE DRESDEN TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY AND FROM LITERATURE. SO IT HAS BEEN POSSIBLE TO SUMMARISE THE THERMODYNAMIC PARAMETERS FOR TWO-COMPONENT REFRIGERANTS, DEVELOP EQUATIONS AND RECOMMEND VALUES FOR 2 CAPACITY RATINGS OF CONDENSERS TO BE USED IN THE DESIGN OF SPIRAL HEAT EXCHANGERS.
