THE PROBLEM OF THE OPTIMIZATION OF INSULATION THICKNESS AS A PART OF THE OPTIMIZATION OF THE ENTIRE COLD ROOM IS REPORTED AND AN ALGORITHM IS PRESENTED FOR THE DESIGN OF COLD ROOMS. A METHOD IS SUGGESTED FOR THE SELECTION OF INSULATION THICKNESS FROM AN ANALYSIS OF THE OVERALL ANNUAL COST. THE CRITERION FOR THE EVALUATION OF SOLUTIONS FOR PLANNED REFRIGERATING SYSTEMS IS REPORTED.
