Summary

A SURVEY OF REGULAR 6-MONTHLY CHECKS OF 2 TYPES OF MILK COOLING EQUIPMENT, IN 2 REGIONS OF SLOVAKIA, EXAMINED THE FREQUENCY OF NECESSARY REPAIRS, THEIR TYPE, COSTS AND REQUIREMENTS IN TIME AND MATERIALS. THESE WERE COMPARED WITH RELEVANT PARAMETERS OF A REGULAR 4-MONTHLY CHECKING CYCLE. RESULTS OF THE SURVEY, GIVEN IN TABLES AND GRAPHS, SHOW AN ECONOMICAL ADVANTAGE OF THE SHORTER CYCLE FOR BOTH TYPES OF EQUIPMENT: THE NUMBER OF FAULTS AND STOPPAGES WAS REDUCED AND OVERALL MAINTENANCE COSTS WERE DECREASED.
