Summary
With a combined population of more than 25 million, international dairy organisations are taking an increased interest in the Levant region which comprises Syria, Jordan and Lebanon. These are all quite different countries as far as their dairy industries are concerned, with Lebanon taking the lead in terms of modernising its production capabilities. Three new dairies have been established there since 1998.
