Development of a dynamic test rig for heat pumps (Emulator).

Summary
An advanced test rig for boilers, indicated as "Emulator" has been developed by TNO. As known, the performance of heat pump systems is even more strongly influenced than the boilers, by the heating system environment, especially by the temperature level of the heat delivering system (condenser) and the temperature level of in-general outdoor-climate-dependent heat source (evaporator). For this reason, TNO has extended the Emulator for heat pump tests. This extended Emulator fits water/water, air/water, water/air and air/air heat pump tests up to 50 kilowatts condenser capacity. This development is supported by the Netherlands Agency for Energy and the Environment (Novem).
