Summary

A GAS-FIRED DOUBLE-EFFECT WATER-LITHIUM BROMIDE ABSORPTION MACHINE IS DESCRIBED THAT IS DESIGNED PRIMARILY FOR AIR CONDITIONING. THE SYSTEM UNDER DEVELOPMENT IS UNIQUE IN THAT THE EVAPORATOR DIRECTLY COOLS AIR FLOWING TO THE HOUSE. THE DESIGN COP FOR COOLING IS 1.0 NET AND 0.85 FOR HEATING, WHILE DELIVERING 10.5 KILOWATTS IN COOLING AND 7.9 KILOWATTS IN HEATING. THE PAPER DESCRIBES THE CYCLE, INCLUDES A PROPOSED EQUIPMENT LAYOUT, AND PROVIDES A BRIEF ECONOMIC EVALUATION.
