Summary
Heat and mass transfer on adsorption beds is decisive for the operational characteristics of adsorption refrigerators. To overcome its heat and mass transfer limitations, an adsorption refrigerator using direct condensation and evaporation on a cooling and chilled water jet has been tested. A plot type machine producing 4 RT with 0.58 COP was designed and tested. The paper reports on its operational performance characteristics.
