Development of high-performance heat transfer tubes for absorbers and evaporators in absorption refrigerating machines.

Summary

New types of heat-transfer tube have been developed for the absorbers and evaporators in absorption refrigerating machines. These tubes about 19 mm in diameter have a lot of small dents 1 to 2 mm in diametre on the outside surface. The dents improve the performance of outside absorption and evaporation heat transfer, and they improve the performance of inside heat transfer because the dent forms a bump inside. The total performance is 1.45 times that of ordinary tubes, but the new tubes are not much heavier.
